About the founder

Most CTOs build the tech.Rene also builds the team.

A fractional CTO who builds the systems your business needs to win back its time — and, just as much, the team behind them. Two decades across the technology and the talent that make a business run.

Rene Banuelos — founder and fractional CTO

In his own words

A Renaissance CEO has the freedom to step out of the day-to-day and see the whole business from the outside in.

Like the Renaissance thinkers who moved fluidly across art, science, and engineering, they work across every discipline of their company: growth, operations, client experience, finance, strategy. They can do that because they’ve built a business that runs without them in the weeds.

Chapter 01

Who is Rene.

Most consultants have one lane. Rene has spent more than two decades crossing them.

He started young, writing software and designing as a teenager, with early work touching the telecom and defense industries. From there he built across recruiting and sales, software and systems, and data-driven marketing.

He has founded companies in financial services, real estate, SaaS, logistics, and marketing services. Today he is the founder of 22 Digital Media and the co-founder and CEO of O2S1, a data-driven marketing consultancy whose work has generated tens of millions of customers for clients.

Today he works as a fractional CTO — the outside technology lens on what a business actually needs to save time and money. But he never stops at the tech: just as he builds the systems, he builds the teams behind them, and has spent more than 20 years recruiting the talent that makes a business run. He isn’t theorizing about AI and global talent — he builds these systems and runs these teams every day, across seven industries and counting.

That range is the point. A Renaissance CEO has to see every part of the business at once. Rene has actually operated every part.

Chapter 02

Why Business Renaissance exists.

Everyone’s talking about AI. But talking isn’t doing, and while you wait, your competitors aren’t.

The big players are spending millions to automate their service delivery and handle the rest with a cheaper global workforce. As their AI takes on more of the work and offshore teams handle much of the rest, their costs drop and their speed climbs. The relationship and personal touch that has protected you starts to look expensive and slow by comparison. The niches that kept you safe stop being safe, because automation makes it nearly free for big players to customize on the fly.

Here’s what’s different about this revolution: adapting is finally within reach of a small business. In the past, change was the killer. Retool a factory, build a platform, open offices. The cost stopped small businesses from keeping up. This time the barrier isn’t deep pockets. It’s knowing how to put the pieces together.

“The barrier isn’t deep pockets anymore. It’s knowing how to put the pieces together.”

That’s what Business Renaissance is for. We combine AI and automation with strategically hired remote talent to rebuild how your business runs, so you cut costs, protect your clients, and scale, instead of bolting AI onto a team that’s already stretched thin.

Chapter 03 · what we believe

Four ways of working.

01

Hire AI like an employee.

Define the job before you choose the tool. Most businesses that give up on AI never actually onboarded it.

The employee

02

Bring in people to own it.

Don’t ask your drowning team to learn to surf. Lasting change comes from people brought in to own it, not piling more on staff who are already underwater.

The owner

03

Automate the mundane.

Machines should take the repetitive work so your people can do the work that needs a human.

The machine

04

The window is open.

Big players move slowly today. That advantage is yours to take right now — but it won’t stay that way.
